The European Data Strategy, released in 2020, establishes the strategic framework for the Gaia-X Initiative. In 2021, Gaia-X AISBL was founded with 22 members and has since grown impressively to 377 members. After almost 3 years, Ulrich Ahle, formerly the CEO of the FIWARE Foundation, has taken on the role of CEO of Gaia-X AISBL.

In an increasingly digitized world, data plays a crucial role. This fact is also acknowledged in the current “Digital Austria Act,” presented on June 1, 2023. In this edition of Inside GAIA-X, we had the pleasure of welcoming Ferdinand Scheidbach from BMF/e-government as a guest.
